Photo 02 - View of the Rofftops of Thamel

Photo 02 - View of the Rooftops of Thamel - Kathmandu (1300m)

From a hotel rooftop, everything feels calm, quiet, almost orderly. A striking contrast to the ceaseless bustle of Thamel’s streets, just three floors below, where noise, crowds, and organized chaos intertwine.

The city’s rooftops form a mosaic of terraces scattered with flower pots and black water tanks — sun-heated cumulus that supply the bathrooms with lukewarm water.

And when the air is clear, free of dust and pollution, the Himalayas appear on the horizon. Just 80 kilometers away, the majestic range towers over the valley, a silent guardian near the border of Nepal and the first Tibetan heights.

Audio Description
