Giangiacomo SERENA DI LAPIGIO wins the 41st Primo Cup
Since the creation of the Primo Cup in 1985 by Prince Albert II of Monaco, many different series have competed on the Principality's sometimes capricious waters. A new “class” made its appearance on the 2025 event: the ClubSwan28, produced since last summer by the Finnish company Nautor Swan.
And this year, no fewer than 450 crew on 86 boats (J70, Smeralda 888, Cape 31, ClubSwan 28 and Longtze) put on a show in fairly difficult swell and wind conditions on the first two sailing days (photos by Black Swan, ClubSwan28).
Sunday was no match for a BMS (Bulletin Météorologique Spécial) which made the race course impassable. On the same day, Giangiacomo SERENA DI LAPIGIO's “GSPOT” (Yacht Club de Monaco) won the fleet of forty-two J70 crews, bringing to a close the 40th anniversary of this not-to-be-missed Mediterranean sailing event organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco.
